9-9-09 (9:09:09)

It's 9/9/09 today! And twice it will be 9/9/09 9:09:09. That is a lot of nines. In honor of all these nines, I offer you this recipe for chocolate chip cookies:

Ingredients:
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 cups flour (or 1 1/2 cups flour, 1/2 cup oats)
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 12-oz package chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 F. Combine butter and sugars, add vanilla, add eggs, and beat. Add dry ingredients (stir or mix in flour a little at a time). Stir or mix in chocolate chips.

Use a teaspoon to spoon dough onto a cookie sheet (I usually use the wrappers from the butter to grease the cookie sheet, or I use a baking stone). Bake for 10 minutes (but remember all ovens are a little different - start checking at 8 minutes. They should look golden-brown but not be burning at the edges). Remove from oven, allow to cool on sheet for 1-2 minutes, remove to cooling rack or plate.

Eat!
